A term limit of 12 years should be imposed on the Supreme Court.
This will help the corruption factor the currently pervades the Supreme Court
12 is still a LONG time. I could even go less.
I assert that my proposal is better than this, because it limits service on the supreme court, while ensuring that every presidential term there are two appointments to the Court. This proposal would not ensure that every president gets the same number of appointments. A 12-year term does line up well with a four-year presidential term, but not with having 9 justices..
To prevent stagnation & corruption, we must ensure a continuous flow of judicial voices/perspectives/opinions by limitint what has become a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court
No federal magistrate, judge or justice may serve more than 12 years in that role. At the tolling of 12 years, a succeeding magistrate, judge or justice shall be appointed. The 12 year period is to be understood as total, and need not be consecutive.
