Persons convicted of a felony cannot run for the office of president. Neither can persons convicted of lesser crimes for fraud, corruption or violence.
Suggest adding a disqualification for financial crimes.
My concern is the portion regarding persons 'under investigation' for fraud, etc. As we now know, anyone can be under investigation for fraud, etc. So while I support the concept, I would like to have a least a judgment or conviction as the threshold.
I also think the investigation standard is too low. However I will still vote for this.
I've changed the language to raise the threshold for barring to a conviction
Sure people make mistakes, but deceit is a character flaw and a violent nature is unacceptable in a decision-maker at this level. There are better candidates.
